Well.....where to start.....I've been teaching the last two days and it's been really busy. We leave at around 8 and don't get home till 6. Course, last night we got caught in traffic and didn't get home till 7:30. By then I was so ready for food and bed, in either order, I ended up just making a zatarans I brought with me from home and conking out by 9. I got moved into an efficiancy in the same building for now, so I could just cook right there. It's really rather nice. Too bad I'll be moving to my true apartment in Feb, after the camps I'm teaching for now. Well...back to classes. Things have gone really well. I'm teaching 2 groups of 6th graders, 3 classes each every day. Yup....6 classes a day. They've been sweet though. They're english is rather limited, but we've been having a good time. Today after finishing a class and having a little time left, they showed me how to say please don't speak Korean. Ask me now.....and frankly I'd have to revert to my cheat sheet of phonetic spelling, but I'm sure it'll come in handy later. The only bad thing about classes so far has been that it has taken me no time at all to realize how chinsy Koreans are with heat. The schools are almost as frigid as the outside. On Mon. I was seriously shivering the whole day....and not just because I've become tropics girl. The kids were freezing too, as we all sat there with our breath trailing out with each breath. You see, they use small wall heaters to heat the rooms and the hallways have nothing. They did bring in a portable heater today though that helped a bit. It may just have been though, that I had more clothes on. Well, I guess this is one way for me to be forced into becoming cold weather folk once again. It was kinda funny. Even the director comented today......"But aren't you from WI? Isn't is cold there also." I just kinda chuckled and attempted to explain that I really haven't been there much over the last 2.5 years. Oh well.
Hmm......I think I better stop rambling for now. I still have things to do for tomorrow. Plus I there's some yummy peanut butter and jelly calling my name......:)
